Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a complementary medical treatment method that goes back thousands of years to Chinese healing practices. TCM is based on five pillars: Acupuncture, medication, massage, exercise, and nutrition. It views the body as a complex system in which the balance of yin and yang and the flow of life energy, known as qi, are central. Diagnosis in TCM is based on a holistic view of symptoms, pulse and tongue diagnosis and a detailed medical history. The aim of TCM is to restore the body’s energetic balance and activate its self-healing powers.
